The Scribes are a multi-award winning hip hop three piece based in Bristol consisting of lyricist/multi instrumentalist Ill Literate, rapper Jonny Steele and beatbox maestro Lacey. The group’s unique talents have combined to make a trademark sound unlike any other, featuring a seamless blend of live instrumentation and sampling set against a block rocking backdrop of booming bass and boom bap breaks.

Known for critically acclaimed performances full of energy, beatboxing and off the cuff freestyling, The Scribes have become festival favourites across the UK, regularly gracing the stage at Glastonbury Festival, Wilderness Festival, Boomtown Fair, Urban In Ibiza, Shambala Festival, Bearded Theory, Leopallooza and many more.

The group’s extensive touring has seen them perform and collaborate with some of the biggest names in hip hop including Macklemore, Dizzee Rascal, Kelis, Lethal Bizzle, Example, De La Soul, Wu Tang Clan, Wiley, KRS One, Pharoah Monch, Four Owls, Goldie, MF Doom, Sugarhill Gang, and Chase and Status to name (drop) but a few.

KRISENGBEAT BIO

Krisengebeat is a beatmaker, DJ, rapper and graffiti artist raised in Berlin, Germany. His strong passion & love for the Hip-Hop culture started in the early childhood when his older brother was already spinning rap albums like "Raising Hell" by RUN DMC among many others...

Krisengebeat created first grooves playing the real drumset back in the days. His first analog sampler and multitrack recorder was an Roland SP-808 combined with "two turntables and a mic" along with some other studio equipment. He borrowed an MPC 2000XL to obtain his own one shortly after because it was a love from the first sample. Rest is history!

In the early 2000's he started recording his first rap album "Nur die besten Überleben" as an MC being a member of the German rap group "Kritische Disstanz". Full LP was released 4 years later in collaboration with Berlin based Teroa Label by Akte One. Also this was the first of his projects mastered by now his long-time friend Chillerdt in the BKStudio.
